Want to start advertising on Facebook using Facebook Business Manager? Want to know how to use Facebook Business Manager?
In this article, in this article we will tell you how to use Facebook Business Manager to safely manage pages, admins, ad accounts, and more.
What is Facebook Business Manager
As the name suggests, Facebook Business Manager is a tool that allows you to manage multiple Facebook Pages, business assets and advertising accounts, as well as Instagram accounts and product catalogs, all in one place. Facebook Business Manager also allows you to give team members full or partial access based on their role. This means that you can delegate tasks smoothly among multiple employees safely.
For agencies, you can also link multiple client Facebook Pages to your Facebook Business Manager account without linking your personal Facebook account or your employees as administrators. For business, you can allow employees to manage your Facebook Page without having to own ownership of your Page or assets.
Why Should You Use Facebook Business Manager?
The reason you should use Facebook Business Manager is to keep you focused on your work.
When you log in to Facebook Business Manager, you will be directed directly to your business assets on Facebook. From there, you can access pages, Ads Manager, and other business-related assets. The second reason is to keep things organized and safe. If you manage more than one Facebook page, ad account, or other asset for yourself or your clients, there is a lot to do from one asset to the next. More importantly, it’s hard to keep tabs on everything you and others have access to.
Facebook Business Manager allows you to quickly view all pages, ad accounts, people who have assigned roles, and much more. Facebook Business Manager is very useful when you need to revoke access to some of your Facebook business assets for someone who is no longer working for your business. Instead of having to go over all of your business assets to delete that person, you can simply go to the People section of Business Manager and remove their access to everything in one click.
Speaking of people, with Business Manager, you don’t have to be friends on Facebook with the people you will assign to page roles, ad accounts, and so on. You can simply use Facebook Business Manager to assign roles. They don’t need to see your personal profile and you don’t need to see their profile.
Now you know why you have to use Business Manager, here are 5 ways to use Facebook Business Manager.
1: Create a New Business Asset in Facebook Business Manager
If this is your first time getting to know what Facebook Business Manager is, first prepare your Facebook account at business.facebook.com/overview. If you’re not a business asset center (page, create one now.
Once Facebook Business Manager opens, open Business Settings.
Note that when you create assets in Business Manager, you won’t be taken directly through the standard setup wizard. For example, to create a new Facebook page, you need to click on Pages in the left navigation.
Then on the right, click the Add button and select Create a New Page from the drop-down menu. From there, you’ll be taken to a standard wizard to completely set up your new Facebook page. Follow this same process to create other assets as well (such as advertising accounts and catalogs) from Business Manager.
2. Claim Assets in your Facebook Business Manager
To claim your business assets (pages, ad accounts, and apps), select the relevant tab (Pages, Ad Accounts, or Apps) for those assets in the left hand navigation.
Then click the Add button on the right and select an option to add a page, ad account or other asset. The asset you choose will be added to your Business Manager immediately because you have complete control over the asset.
You can only add assets that you personally own to Business Manager because only one Business Manager can claim assets. So, if you claim a client’s Facebook page, your client can only request access to it; You will need to request access to client pages, advertising accounts, or other assets.
This is very important to pay attention to when claiming an advertising account. Although pages can be deleted from Business Manager, Ads accounts cannot.
3. Request Access to Business Assets Owned by Others
If you are not the owner of an asset (page, advertising account, or product catalog), you can request to add the asset to your Business Manager.
Approval from the current owner or admin is required before these assets are added to Business Manager. Please note that Facebook sometimes limits the number of assets you can request until multiple owners and admins approve your request.
Remember, this is the option you should use if you are managing assets for a client or any asset that you don’t own.

5. Assign People or Add Partners in Business Manager
When giving others access to your business assets (such as pages and advertising accounts), you have the option to assign people or add partners.
Here’s how to understand the differences:
- People are individuals to whom you give access to business assets. For example, if you were working with a Facebook consultant, you would give that person a special role to access the pages, ad accounts and other assets needed to manage them by adding them via email.
- Partners are businesses that you give access to business assets. For example, if you work with an agency, you will give that agency a special role to access pages, advertising accounts, and other assets. Add agencies via their Business Manager ID. The agency will then assign specific roles to employees to access your pages, advertising accounts, and other assets needed to manage them.
To assign a person, click People under the Users section in the left navigation. Then click Add on the right.
In the pop-up window, enter the email address of the person you want to give access to your business assets. Use role definitions to choose whether they should be added as employees or admins.
After clicking Next, you will be asked to tick the boxes next to the pages, ad accounts, and other assets that you want them to manage. For each asset, you can assign a specific role.
When done, click Invite to send your request to that person.
To see everyone who has access to your business assets, click People on the left navigation. From here, you can cancel invitations, assign assets, and delete people.
Determine the role of your partner on the following screen.
After the partners have been added, click Partners in the left navigation to see which partners have access to your business assets. There you can delete them, if necessary.
Or, to edit the roles of people and partners, open your business assets. Click on the Assigned People or Partners tab to find options for editing their roles.
6: Organize Business Assets Into Groups
If you have lots of pages and other assets in Business Manager, Or you might want to use groups to organize them. To do this, click Business Assets Groups on the left navigation. Once there, click on Create Business Assets Groups and assign pages, ad accounts, and other business assets to the group.
Note that each ad page and account can only have one group. If you need to reset, you can remove assets from one group and add them to another group.
Business asset groups are not required; however, they are useful if you have a lot of pages or advertising accounts to go through when assigning your people or partners because you can add them to a group.

We’ve now covered the main functions of Business Manager, but here are a few other features to explore.
